Kyle Busch To Drive Nationwide Entry At Watkins Glen For D'Hondt
Buddy Shacklette - AHN Motor Sports Reporter:: Published: 2008-05-16 06:59:54 GMT
Mooresville, NC (AHN) - Kyle Busch will drive for D'Hondt Motorsports, LLC in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on August 9th at Watkins Glen International.
Busch, who leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points standings and is second in the Nationwide points, won the road-course Nationwide race at Mexico City earlier in the year.
"Eddie is highly respected within our industry and has a reputation of building solid teams and very competitive cars,'' said Busch. "I really enjoy road course racing and with the Sprint Cup Series also competing at "The Glen" the same weekend, it made sense to run this race as well."
The 22-year Las Vegas native will wheel the No. 92 Toyota Camry in the Zippo 200.
Busch has three Cup wins, three Nationwide wins and two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victories this season.
"Kyle's proven that he is a threat to win every time he straps in a car. We have two brand new, Toyota Camry road course cars being completed for him to run in this event,'' said team owner Eddie D'Hondt. "Given his talent and Toyota's support, we expect to run as hard as he's run all year. The 2008 D'Hondt Motorsports agenda calls for a limited number of NASCAR Nationwide Series events and this is a great way to kick off our effort."
